MAIN EVENT
 The "Main Event" is not the food and speaker at our banquets, the shooting, canoeing, hiking or the hunting trips.  It is not taking that big buck or catching a big Bass.  The "Main Event" is to teach people about our Great God and to present the plan of salvation to each person who desires to hear it.  Many words have been written about our God and His greatness. As outdoorsman the second verse of the hymn "How GreatThou Art"  is especially appealing to us when we think about His greatness.  The verse states "When thru the woods and forest glades I wander And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,  When I look down from lofty mountains glanduer And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeeze,Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee, How great thou art."  Our God is great and the word "Savior" is the key word.  Our God sent his son into this world to live a perfect life and to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross.  You too can experience this great God by accepting his Son as your Savior.  It is as simple as ABC.

​                A:  Admit :     Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turn away
                                    from your sin.  Read the following Bible verses to see

             B:  Believe:  Believe that Jesus is God's Son and receive Jesus' gift of
                                    forgiveness from sin.  Read the following Bible verses to
                                    see what God's word tells us about this: John 3:16,
                                    John 14:6,  Acts 4:12, Romans 5:8, Esphesians 2:8-9,
                                    1 John 11-13

             C:  Confess:  Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

If you are ready to accept this gift, then sincerely pray this prayer and you will have the Forgiveness of God, Jesus as your mentor and you will spend eternity in Heaven:

Dear Jesus, 
I believe that you are the Holy Son of God.  I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and that you rose from the dead.  You are my salvation.  Please wash away all my sins and make me a child of God. I give my life to you totally today.

If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you now have a new life.  You are a babe in Christ.  You now have the Holy Spirit living in you to guide you in everything you do. There are certain things you should do.  When you first started hunting, fishing or whatever your favorite activity is, you sought out people who knew how to do that activity to learn from them .  You need to do the same thing as a new Christian. To grow as a Christian, you need to find and join a church entrenched in the Bible and participate in activities such as a small group Bible study. You need to develop  the habit of daily Bible reading and prayer.  You need to follow God's commandment and be baptized to show everyone that you have died to your old sinful life and have risen to begin anew with Jesus. You need to strive to break the sinful habits you may have developed.  Your dependence on God will help to do this.  In this process you will find new friends.  You do not have to forsake your old friends. You need to love them and tell them why you are different now and try to lead them to accept Christ also.  Then they can experience the same thing you are experiencing now.  Do not let them drag you back into your old ways.  Good Luck and God bless you.  Please email one of the people on the Contact page and let us know of your decision.
